वो जलवा जो ओझल भी है, सामने भी.... वो जलवा चुराने को जी चाहता है

As I have written earlier, I love music a lot and have loads of songs on my disc. While coming back from my last tour to Pune, just got some selected MP3s from my brother, which has nearly all the old hits from 50's & 60' onwards. This collection has made it's way on my disc and I'm much happy to say that my audio songs collection has now occupied over 35GB of my disc.

While listening to the collection, came across this very favorite song of mine "निगाहें मिलाने को जी चाहता है" (nigaahen milaane ko ji chahata hai) from the movie titled Dil hi to hai (1963, Raj Kapoor & Nutan starrer). It is a कव्वाली (kawwali) with an amazing blend of Urdu and Hindi, yet quite easy to understand. String of Urdu Words like तोहमत, ओझल, राज्, लज्जत is used with Hindi so well, it appears to be one language.

And who else than the most versatile singer would have sung it? Yes, it is Asha Bhosle who has sung it with her sweetest voice. The highs and lows in her voice in this song, in any song she sings for that matter, really shows the situation and mood of the scene in the most expressive way around.
